Lipodissolve is a method of localized spot fat reduction that shrinks areas of the body, such as double chins, under the eyes, the lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth, arms, love handles and buttock folds that are hard to firm up or reduce through weight loss alone. About 75-80% of patients have a significant, visible reduction and loss of inches to the areas being treated. Because of the nature of individual response, specific results cannot be guaranteed.
Lipodissolve (a modification of mesotherapy) is an alternative to liposuction, but is not designed to be used as a weight loss program. A healthy diet and exercise program are also necessary for optimal results.
Lipodissolve works by causing the existing fat to emulsify, dissolve, diminish and flush almost immediately (20-30 minutes) following injection. The fatty acids are then slowly reabsorbed by the lymphatic system and flushed from the body over a period of weeks by the kidneys and liver. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) and Sodium Deoxycholate (DC) are injected into the areas where you want fat reduction. PC is a surfactant that is natural to the body and a component of bile acids and the membranes of all cells. DC is an emusifier necessary to make PC into an injectable form.
Lipodissolve is not for everyone. To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or less. If your BMI is higher, the results of the lipodissolve will not be sufficient to produce the desired visual results.
